Why use Filetaki for this

Stays on your device

The work is done by your own browser. Your file is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Before and after sizes

See exactly how much smaller each picture became.

Resize while you compress

A maximum width shrinks huge camera photos to a sensible size.

Whole batches

Compress a set of photos with the same settings in one job.

Phone cameras produce photos of 4 MB and more, while many forms accept 1 MB or less. Compressing brings a photo under the limit, makes emails send faster and helps web pages load quickly.

The quality slider controls how hard the picture is squeezed. Around 75 is a good balance for photos: the file is often a quarter of its original size with no difference you can see on screen. A maximum width, for example 1600 pixels, saves even more, because few uses need the full size of a modern camera.

PNG files are best for graphics with few colours. For a PNG photo, choose "Save as WEBP" or "Save as JPG" to get a much smaller file.

Questions and answers

How much smaller will my image get?

Photos typically shrink by 50 to 80 percent at quality 75. The exact result is shown for each file.

Will I see a loss of quality?

At quality 70 or higher, rarely. Lower settings make files smaller and can blur fine detail.

Why did my PNG barely change?

PNG is a lossless format, so it cannot be squeezed the way a photo can. Save it as WEBP or JPG for a real reduction.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Filetaki tools run inside your browser, so the file stays on your phone or computer. That is why it also works when your connection is slow.

Do I need a plan to download?

Yes. You can add files, choose options and see the result first. Downloading needs a plan: €0.60 for 3 days, then €39.95 every 4 weeks until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, including during the 3 days.
